Mile 80 was built on the back of a talented team of post-production artists. Our company founder, Ryan Sheffer, has been an editor and post-production artist for nearly two decades. He and our other leadership have worked to create the best systems and rules to maximize both quality and efficiency for all work that happens after production wraps.
Key to this is the creation of a rock-solid data management system that ensures global distribution of both working files and final deliverables - without delay. It also ensures storage of all your production data in perpetuity and without additional charges beyond the initial project budget agreed upon.
One unique aspect of our post-production capabilities is our focus on 'content up-cycling'.
Content up-cycling
Up-cycling is when you take any assets or content you have on hand, and work with us to leverage it into something completely new. Often there is a need for a distinctly new business story to be told. However, budgets sometimes don’t allow for a full new production. We are experts at working with what you have to create what you need. Up-cycling is one of our favorite types of production because it requires a distinct amount of creativity and skill.

1. Data organization and distribution
Mile 80 is a globally distributed team of artists. This has created a need to build systems that are unrivaled in our industry. We’re confident that our ability to share and distribute files is as good, if not better, than any other company. Even those that are miles more expensive.
2. Editorial
We have a sizable team of full time editors. They have been trained by our leadership to ensure that all projects are edited in a cohesive fashion. You’ll always know what you’re getting when working with a Mile 80 editor. We work fast. We’re effective. We never miss deadlines. We split our editorial work between DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro.
3. Motion graphics
After editorial, motion graphics became Mile 80’s second service offering. We have a similarly large team of motion graphics artists available for any overlays necessary. Our primary 2D animation software is Adobe After Effects. We work within Blender, C4D, and many other softwares for 3D work.
4. VFX
If you need anything taken out or added to a shot, we can handle it. From green screen pulls to full 3D composited visuals on top of a shot, we’ve done just any type of VFX work you can think of.
5. Sound design and mastering
At Mile 80, we’re firm believers that you can produce a quality video out of low-quality visuals. You cannot, however, have low quality sound. No matter the size or scale of a project - we work hard to ensure that sound mastering and design is given the time it deserves.
6. Color correction
Our post-production staff are all trained in color management, correction, and look design. This ensures that even projects without huge budgets can benefit from updated color.
7. Versioning
One of the least “sexy” parts of post-production is taking a finished file and making many different versions for different purposes. We’ve been doing this type of work for over a decade, and understand that it’s often the most important part of ensuring that your brand story reaches the largest audience.
8. File delivery
What good is a great edit if it can’t be played where it needs to be played? One of the often-overlooked parts of video production is ensuring that all file types, codecs, color spaces, etc are all handled correctly for final delivery. At the outset of any project we make sure to understand the deliverable requirements. Whether we’re delivering to a phone, movie theater, or broadcast TV - we never miss on delivery.
